We would like to congratulate Joelishia Banfield on graduating summa cum laude from Florida Atlantic University this spring, 2017. Kids’ Dreams has been a part of Joelisha’s college journey since fall semester 2014. With impeccable determination and focus she graduated with a 3.9 G.P.A. The College of Science had a total of 541 graduates and Joelishia was one of twenty that received the honors of summa cum laude.
Boynton Beach City Council grants Kids’ Dreams funds for Boynton Beach Students
Mayor Stephen Grant contact Kids’ Dreams for information about Kids’ Dreams support of youth from Boynton Beach. In response to his request for additional information, Kids’ Dreams Officer, John Levey, made a presentation before the Boynton Beach City Council on December 6, 2016. Present in the packed audience with the Boynton Beach community was Boynton Beach Policy Chief Jeff Katz who also commended Kids’ Dreams on it efforts in helping Boynton Beach youth. Mr. Levey explained that Kids’ Dreams has provided thousands of dollars in funding to the Title 1 school children of Boynton Beach with college scholarships, camp experiences, academic experiences, support of the Thespians at Boynton Beach High School and financial awards to the winners of the Alan Lebow Awards for Excellence in Shakespearean Performance at the Kravis Center. He included information about the special student who received a check for $1000 to pursue her dream of becoming a marine biologist. This is another important step in linking Kids’ Dreams with elected officials in support of economically-underserved youth. Mr. Levey assured the audience that all funds from Boynton Beach would be directed specifically for the benefit of Boynton Beach residents.
Courtlyn is a first year Business Administration student at Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University. During this first semester Courtlyn has been very active. She was invited to participate in FAMU’s SGA Freshmen Leadership Institute, joined the Big Sisters/Little Sisters program, applied for the 2017 Orientation Leader Team and applied to be a Peer Mentor. Courtlyn also declared her candidacy for Freshman Senator and participated in a full campaign. She is approaching the end of her first semester and currently preparing for her final round of exams.

Musiq, 2016 Young Singer of the Palm Beaches Scholar
Kids’ Dreams proudly sponsors Musiq a Young Singer of the Palm Beaches scholarship to enable her to perfect her music talent. Musiq is a 3rd grader at a Palm Beach County Title 1 school. Music is a passion of hers. In addition to singing in the Treble Choir of Young Singers of the Palm Beaches, she also plays the violin, cello, and loves to dance.
November and December have been Very Busy months for this talented young lady. Musiq has performed in multiple performances with the Young Singers of the Palm Beaches at the Center for Creative Education, as well as performing as principle cellist with her schools Beethoven Orchestra.
Mr. Cass is a CPA with over 30 years of public accounting experience in auditing, taxation, and consulting services. He has a B.S. in accounting from Syracuse University and a MBA from New York University. He received the Service award by New York University Graduate School- Business Administration. Mr. Cass is also the winner of the “Jeffrey R. Salins Report Writing Award” by the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts (NACVA). Mr. Cass has an active interest in charitable and non-profit organizations. His professional affiliations include the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He also served as president of Meyer Academy and he is currently serving as a Board member of the Palm Beach County Education Foundation and the Palm Beach County Business Development Board, where he is also on the Board of Advisors.
