In Fall 2015, Kids’ Dreams sponsored four elementary-school students to attend the Young Singers Choir in the Glades for the 2015-2016 season.
Danika Belizaire is a Haitian American 4th grade student at Belle Glade Elementary School. She is a second year veteran of YSPB Choir in the Glades. In addition to singing she is in the band at her church where she plays the clarinet. She comes from a two parent family where the parents both work at minimum wages jobs in the agricultural field. She is on the free lunch program here at school Her older high school brother picks her up after practice so she can walk safely to her house.
Charliyah Vickers is an African American 6th grade student at Lake Shore Middle School. She is a second year veteran of the YSPB Choir in the Glades. She is a very talented and self-driven young lady from a single parent family with one older sibling who is also a good singer. The mother is very supportive of the educational process and cares for her daughters will great love and diligence. The father is not able to assist in any way. She is on the free lunch program and despite many hardships this student is an amazing young girl who will undoubtedly be successful in the future.
Brandon Bryant is an African American 5th grade student at Belle Glade Elementary School. He is a second year veteran of YSPB Choir n the Glades. He lives with his mother and younger sister. He is a good student overcoming socioeconomic barriers while on the free lunch program. His mother works part-time as a day care provider.
Jeanya Miller is a 5th grade student at Belle Glade Elementary School. She is a second year veteran of YSPB Choir in the Glades. She comes from a two-parent family that has had some domestic issue in the past. YSPB is a group that provides stability for her and provides an outlet for her talents. She is on the free lunch program. She has a younger brother at home.
